INTERNATIONAL SCOLIOSIS AWARENESS DAY
Awareness creation took place where over 1000 pupils, teachers and management of the school were introduced to scoliosis, what it is and signs that show whether or not one may have the condition in later life.
The event was part of the commemoration of International Scoliosis Awareness Month.
On the first and second day there was educational tour to ALKO International School at James town near Mudor and the Sempe 1 Government School all, in Accra. The team that led that campaign includes Gabriel, Evans, Michael, Philip and Benjamin.
During the screening some parents were educated on the condition. They were advised to seek help if they realized any such signs on their wards. After the screening, no pupil was found to have the condition. However, we at SFG will carry the campaign on to eradicate the stigma and fear surrounding the condition nationwide.
