Meet the Founder

The founder and CEO of Scoliosis Foundation Ghana, Gabriel Ntow Quao born and raised in Ghana, is a remarkable individual who has faced the challenges of scoliosis with unwavering determination and an indomitable spirit. Despite being diagnosed with scoliosis at a young age, Gabriel never allowed his condition to define him or limit his potential. Instead, he turned his adversity into a powerful catalyst for change and became an advocate for others who suffer from scoliosis.

Through his journey, Gabriel has inspired countless individuals to embrace their uniqueness and fight against the obstacles they face. From routines to wearing a back brace for years, Gabriel's battle against scoliosis has been far from easy. However, he refused to let the physical and emotional pain consume him. Instead, he channeled his energy towards raising awareness about scoliosis and improving access to medical resources for those affected in Ghana and across Africa.

With unwavering determination, Gabriel formed the Scoliosis Foundation Ghana, a nonprofit organization that provides support, screening, resources, and education to individuals with scoliosis in Ghana. Through the Scoliosis Foundation Ghana, Gabriel has organized outreach programmes, fundraising events, and awareness campaigns to ensure that no one facing scoliosis in Ghana feels alone or without access to proper care and support.

Gabriel's efforts have not gone unnoticed; he has received recognition and accolades for his work. He has been recognized by both local and international organizations and institutions, such as the Ministry of Health Ghana, FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital Ghana, Real Disease Ghana, the TC Human Rights Class of Columbia University, University of Ghana, the National Scoliosis Foundation, the Children’s Scoliosis Foundation, Higgy Bears, World Spine Day, and Shriners Hospital for Children.
